Human oversight
Also called human in the loop, oversight, meaningful human review.
Human oversight is a person checking an AI system’s work in a way that could actually catch a problem, and stop or change the result, rather than clicking “Continue”. It needs the time, the knowledge and the authority to say no. The EU AI Act requires it for high-risk AI systems, in Article 14.
Think of it as
A supervisor who reads the report, not just signs it.
Why it matters at work
An approval prompt clicked forty times a day stops being a check. Module 9 shows how to put the check before the action and make an approval worth its name.
