AI skill
Also called skill.
An AI skill is a written-up way of doing one task, saved as instructions and sometimes example files, that an AI tool opens when it judges the task needs it. It lets everyone reuse a team’s best way of doing something, but it’s advice the AI usually follows, not a rule it must.
Think of it as
A laminated “how we do this” card.
Why it matters at work
Skills turn one person’s good chat into the team’s usual way of working. Anything that must happen every time belongs in a permission or a process check instead, as Module 6 explains.
